Pretty Princesses

Riley Jo had a friend stay over the other night, and this little girl is 100% girly girl. We did fingernails, toenails, dress up and had a tea party. Of course the boys had to chase and tease them, so my house was a bit loud!! All I heard was screams then giggles. Over and over. At least with boys, I know to expect trouble and am prepared, girls, on the other hand, I just never know :)

Fun with Chance

We had Chance for a few days last week and I had 3 pretty happy kids. It was go go go the whole time. I knew there was trouble if it got quiet ;)

The boys were fixing up the playhouse for Riley Jo and one of her friends so they could make it "girly". Truth be told....I think they were just making it so the girls would leave them alone:)

For the 4th of July, we headed into town for the parade, then went and had lunch in the park, and walked thru all the booths they had set up. Later that night, we went over to some friends for a Bar B Q and fireworks. I think the kids had a good day!

We also had to make a trip to the creek one afternoon. Of course, the kids played in the water for about 10 minutes then headed to the big mud hole!

Rock Climbing Adventures

The boys suggested that we go rock climbing the other day, so we packed a lunch and headed down the road!

The boys made it all the way to the top, Riley Jo and I made it about half way before we meet up with the boys on their way down, so we all headed back down for some water and watermelon!!

Not so stubborn anymore...

About this time last year, Riley Jo took the training wheels off of her bike and tried riding without them. She did great...for about an hour...then decided that she just didn't want to ride her bike. Just last week, she came to me and asked to have the training wheels put back on. The day after that, she wanted me to raise them, and then raise them a little more the next day, and by the 3rd day, she wanted them off again. I'm happy to report that she is finally riding her bike and doing great at it!

Now that Riley Jo has started riding her bike, she inspired Matt & I to get bikes so that we could go for family bike rides. We have gone almost every night and it has been so much fun!

We told her that once she started riding her bike, that we would get her a new bike of her choice..of course she picked out a pink bike with ladybugs and butterflies!! She is doing great and having lots of fun!!

Summertime?!?!

Finally, within the past week, the weather has started to warm up and feel more like summer. Yesterday I think we even hit 80 degrees!! The kids thought that it was hot enough to play in the water, so we headed up the creek! We found this really nice spot, with lots of water and a nice wide area. The only bad part was that we were in the bottom of a small coulee with a lot of trees around us, so I couldn't really see to far out around us. That, and Butch kept acting really funny and the fact that the bears were in that area just 4 days prior, I decided that we should find a new spot!

We found one a little closer to the houses, and a lot more open so nothing could sneak up on us!!

Of course the kids found the big mud hole and proceeded to cover themselves with mud!!

We had a great time playing. Although I will admit that the bear has made me very nervous, so the other day we did go buy a slip-n-slide to have to play with in the yard!!

Our new project...

We are building a grill. Not just any grill...but a cooker. It will have a 4 ft. grill with a 2 ft. fire box on the side for the smoker. Matt got this great idea after enjoying lots of yummy smoked ribs and sausages that my Uncle made....so we are trying our hand at one of own.
This is the very beginning...one big piece of very heavy pipe!!

Matt is determined to make this OUR project, so I have learned how to use the torch AND the welder. Not too fond of the torch, but I actually liked welding! The piece below is the wall between the 2 pipes, but even better...is that I cut it out myself with the torch!! YAY ME!!

This is were we are at as of 3 days ago. The body is put together!! We are hoping to have it done in time to try it out at least one time this summer!!

I got to go flying!!!!!

After being here almost 1 year, I finally MADE the time to go flying with my neighbor. It was SO much fun. I got a pretty good tour of the place, saw a lot of elk, and even got to buzz some cows!! I had a permanent grin on my face all day! I really didn't get any good pictures. It's a little bit tricky taking pictures from a plane when you're moving about 100mph. The first picture is of one of the wild horse herds that are not too far from here.
