Sledding Fun

Although we don't have near the amounts of snow that other areas around us have, we did manage to get some sledding time in.

I had the bright idea to sit on the back of the 4 wheeler to get pictures of the kids, and it worked good for Riley. When it was Tater's turn in the sled, not so much fun for me. I had to hang on with both hands! Therefore I didn't get too many pictures of him!

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas to everyone! Hopefully everybody had an enjoyable day! We survived yet another Christmas and the kids, of course, made out like bandits. We were planning on my family for Christmas, but the weather and roads kept that from happening :(, so it was a quiet day at my house.

This is team work.....

I love the look on Tater's face when he opened a Wii video game, seeing as we don't have one! He couldn't figure out why he would be getting a game!! (my mom got them a Wii, but she wasn't able to make it, and I wasn't paying attention when he grabbed that gift) Now he insists that we need to buy a Wii :-)




Dustin got a remote control monster truck and had the brilliant idea to tie Butch's toy behind it to see what would happen. Needless to say, the dog is stronger then the truck!!! But it made for some good laughs.

Santa was the winner of favorite gifts this year by far! Riley Jo got a pink desk and art supplies and she LOVES it!. She has done nothing else but color and draw since Christmas Day!

Dustin got a compound bow from Santa and is pretty excited! He couldn't wait to get outside and try it out!

Looks like he's gonna be ready for archery club! Believe me, he is counting down the days until it starts!

Tater's Christmas Play

The 2nd graders and the 5th graders put on a Christmas play at the school. Dustin was Paul Elf. He got to be on the stage for the whole play! (He felt pretty important). He did awesome! He didn't mess up any of his lines, he spoke clear and loud, and there was no embarrassing moments:)

The Tree....

This year I was looking for a tall skinny tree, just because of a small space issue. I figured it won't be that hard to find a small tree in the woods, but apparently I can not judge size. This tree looked a LOT smaller in the woods. Once we got it home, Matt had to take about 12" off of the top and trim most of the side branches! The good thing about having a 'not so full' tree, is that we used less lights and decorations so hopefully it will be really simple to take down everything!

It's a pretty tree. I think Charlie Brown would be proud!!!

The Great Tree Hunt

This last weekend, we braved the elements and headed out into the cold in search for a Christmas tree. We went with some friends and made a morning of the ordeal, complete with sledding and a fire! Despite the subzero temperatures, it was a very fun time:)

Another Sunday at my house....

I haven't been too good at keeping up on my blogging, so here are some random pictures...

I managed to get the kiddos to pause for a moment so that I could snap a picture of them playing together peacefully....a rare moment these days:)

No one can ever tell Dustin that pumpkins are a waste. He makes sure that he gets use out of them, even after Halloween. In fact, when he picks out his pumpkin to carve, he's already thinking about pulverizing it!

Because of all the houses, horses and the road around the house here, he is only able to shoot his bb gun here. Although after a little "warm up round", he convinced Matt to take him to the designated shooting range out here so he could shoot his .22.

Happy Halloween

This year I had a very cute pink bunny rabbit and one scary vampire.

Apparently vampires like the taste of rabbits, so it was a challenge for Tater to control his hunger pains :)

The weather this year was nice. The wind was blowing, but there was no snow! Downtown Cody does a trick or treating for the kids. They shut down the main street and let the kids go to all of the businesses down there. It was pretty fun. LOTS of people were there.

The Headless Horseman made an appearance....

After doing the downtown thing, we went and did door to door in one neighborhood and then decided to call it a night. I had two tuckered out kids by the time we got home...but not too tired to go through their loot:)

Winter already?!?

I don't even know what to say except....UGH!!! We currently have over two feet of snow, single digit temps, and one cranky mama!!

Pumpkin Patch

The 2nd grade class has a running tradition of the pumpkin patch. It's a small plot of land a few blocks from the school that the owners have agreed to let the kids use. Every year the class harvests all of the pumpkins and then sells them at the local fall festival. Then later this year, they will go and plant more pumpkin seeds for next years class.
